What is an SAS?

What is a Corporation (SA)?

An SA (Sociedad Anónima) is a more traditional structure requiring a minimum of five shareholders, a mandatory board of directors and a statutory auditor. It is ideal for companies planning to list on the stock exchange or operating in regulated sectors such as banking.

What is a branch of a foreign company?

A branch is an extension of the head office, not an independent legal entity. The parent company bears unlimited liability for the branch's obligations. It is useful for specific projects such as hydrocarbons or mining.
